ASA continues to improve and expand its services. A wide range of services are offered
to help seniors and disabled adults lead more happy and independent lives.
Charges, if applicable for any of the services, are available
upon request.
- Inhome Aide
- A variety of inhome aide services are available from simple home management and cleaning
to Certified Nursing Assistant personal care. Funding for these services is provided by
Private Pay, North Carolina Home and Community Block Grant, and Medicaid. A nurse or case
manager can assist in determining which level of care best meets the need.
- Nutrition
- Healthy hot lunches are provided each day by our nutrition staff. Home delivered meals
are taken to 100 homes each day by dedicated volunteers. On-site Senior Center
participants gather in the dining room for fellowship and nutritious food. Daily meals and
snacks are provided to participants in the child and adult day cares.
- Senior Center
- ASA's Senior Center provides many fun, educational,
recreational, and support activities for our seniors.
- Generations Day Care
- One of only three in North Carolina, ASA's intergenerational day care provides love and
care to old and young alike.
- Transportation
- Ashe Services for Aging contracts with the Ashe County Transportation Authority to
provide transportation for seniors on established routes to essential services.
- Volunteer Opportunities
- Deliver a meal, play with a child, make an older friend; These are just a few of the
volunteer opportunities available at ASA.
- Care Finder
- A social worker or registered nurse will assist in finding the appropriate care for any
elderly or disabled adult.
